The Transportation and Hospitality Committee is resposible to:

  • Provide transportation for the International Family
  • Provide Interpreters
  • Provide Greeters
  • Operate Intersate Highway Welcome Centers
  • Assist in Coordinating RV and Trailer Camping
  • Throw a Host Night Celebration
  • Coordinate City Hospitality
  • Provide and Man a Host Office and Booth

This committee is responsible for arranging and maintaining "Welcome Centers" at airport terminals, train stations, the convention center, and at official LCI hotels.

Visiting Lions will seek out these welcome desks to meet fellow members and to ask a lot of questions regarding the official program, transportation, and city-specific inquires. This is a busy, demanding and very rewarding position as volunteers act as ambossadors of both their club and city.

The Host Night Committee will plan a reception or other event for the International Family, local Lions, and guests.

Host Office & Booth

Host Office - Set up and maintain a working area for:

  • Volunteer reporting and briefing
  • Volunteer training
  • Sergeant-At-Arms daily meetings and debriefs
  • Daily updates
  • Reception and Greeting area for visiting Lions members
  • Rest/break area for volunteers

Host Booth - is the primary venue where volunteers assist our visiting members. It serves as an information booth, concierge desk, and possibly a convention souvenir sales place.

Provide 4-6 interpreters for the non-English speaking spouses of our International Directors during the pre-convention board meeting.
The Interstate Welcome Centers Committee will set up welcome stations at key interstate rest stops to provide information to incoming attendees.
The Road Show Committee will coordinate with the PR committee to bring the convention message to major Lions events around the world including the 2010 International Convention and various Leadership Forums.
This committee is responsible to review and select a camping site for 100 to 200 Lions traveling to the convention city in motor homes or RVs. Additionally, the team will secure space, negotiate rates and handle the payments for space reservations.

Our associations International Family is comprised of the Executive Officers, International Directors, Past International Presidents, board appointees, administrative officers, and their families.

The Host Committee provides VIP greeters, interpreters, and courtesy airport transportation upon arrival as well as for their departures after the convention.
